AUTOSAR MCAL drivers MC-ISAR for AURIX Microcontroller

AUTOSAR MCAL Libraries MC-ISAR

Bluewind provides the low-level drivers based on the AUTOSAR Microcontroller Abstraction Layer (MCAL).

AUTOSAR (acronym of AUTomotive Open System ARchitecture) is the software architecture designed for the automotive world relying on ISO 26262 Functional Safety standard and MCAL is its bottom layer, interfaced directly with hardware.

MC-ISAR (acronym of Micro Controller – Infineon Software ARchitecture) is the sales product name of the AUTOSAR compliant low level drivers for Infineon microcontrollers, also known simply as MCAL.

MC-ISAR product is offered as software packages, with drivers grouped by category:

  • Basic package: basic microcontroller and device drivers, such as MCU, PORT, DIO, ICU, GPT, PWM, SPI, ADC, WDG, BFX (bit handling for fixed-point data), OCU (Output Compare Unit), CRC.
  • COM basic package: basic drivers for communication, such as CAN, CanTrcv (CAN transceiver) and LIN.
  • COM Enhanced package: additional drivers for commuication, such as FlexRay and Ethernet.
  • MEM package: drivers for memory management, such as FLASH and FEE (Flash EEPROM Emulation)
  • MCD Complex Driver package: complex drivers for non-standardized hardware modules, such as UART, MSC (Micro Second Channel), DMA, FLSloader (Flash loader), HSSL, SENT, I2C, IOM, STM, IRQ, DS-ADC, SMU.

These packages may differ depending on the AURIX family and the specific derivative according to the roadmap, as well as supported AUTOSAR releases are those specified by the release notes.
